Our Story

We started Bird & Banner because, as brides-to-be, we were excited by the possibility of expressing our personality & style down to the tiniest detail at our own weddings.

Now that our weddings are behind us, we have fallen in love with helping others find unique ways to announce their own celebrations, from showersto weddings to the announcement of a new member of the family.

As professional graphic designers we are sensitive to the formal aspects of design such as type & color, but also hand print most of our pieces, giving us the opportunity to print on uncommon materials like wood & fabric. This makes for a personal piece of communication you won't see anywhere else.

Our Samples

Tactile
Hand-printing onto white fabric swatches allowed for a simple sophistication for this New York loft wedding.

A wedding in the woods
This late-summer wedding in Vermont was the perfect opportunity to print on real maple wood cards, which came wrapped in a hydrangea-colored sleeve.

Festive sophistication
An antique toile pattern hand printed in pink and green
announces a May wedding.

A garden wedding in Philadelphia
Hand-printed valentines helped set the mood for this outdoor wedding in the City of Brotherly Love.

Chocolate and Sage
A bridal shower invitation featuring custom lettering, hand-printing, and a simple stitch to accentuate the bride’s color theme.

Monogram
A custom monogram hand-printed on a chocolate-colored wrap encloses the wedding invitation, RSVP card, and directions. The design was inspired by the wedding’s color theme and sentiment, “Today I marry my best friend.”

Wee little pumpkin
All of the information for this baby shower is held inside
an image of the mama’s belly, just like the baby-to-be!

A Mad Hatter tea party
Envelopes prompted guests to “open me,” “follow me,” and “read me” to learn details about this Alice in Wonderland themed shower.

A cozy celebration at Eagle Tavern
A wedding held in a cozy historic tavern in early October. Modern and playful approaches to traditional calligraphy express the style of the couple and their celebration.

Save the Date
A photo-booth save the date allowed friends and family to mark their calendars while also getting a glimpse of the couple.
